Beashel Quarries Site Induction

Use UHF Chanel 34, Call that you are entering or leaving Beashel Quarries as you drive past each marker sign. If you do not have UHF radio drive carefully and watch carefully for oncoming traffic.*

Haul road speed limit 40km per hour*

Quarry areas speed limits 5Km per hour*

Give way to all Earthmoving vehicles*

If using manual tarps, tarp and untarp in designated areas that are clearly marked*

Do not leave your vehicle unless instructed.*

Stop what you are doing. Turn off equipment if it is safe to do so*

Check surrounding area of danger to yourself & others*

Proceed in an orderly manner to emergency assembly area signposted: Haul Road at Old Slate Pit & report to site supervisor*

Do not leave the assembly point until instructed*

If raising the alarm use UHF 34 on UHF. Clearly announce EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY*

State your name, where you are, describe the emergency. Site supervisor will provide further instructions*

You must report the injury to site supervisor as soon as possible regardless of how minor it is*

First aid kits are located inside two wheel loaders, Inside white steel box at Emergency Response Area and Inside white steel box in front of Granite Quarry*

Any incident or near miss must be reported to site supervisor*

Beashel Quarries has implemented a Safety Management System to assist in managing risks which have the potential to impact the health and safety of workers and others at our Quarries. The safety management system is comprised of:

• Safety Management Plan

• Policies

• Principle Hazard Management Plan

• Principle Control Plans

The safety management plan can be accessed in hard copy at the Emergency Assembly Area at the Old Slate Pit*

Take care that your actions or words do not adversely affect the health & safety of any other person*

Co-operate with policy/procedure relating to health & safety*

Contractors – prepare Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for any work being performed*

Not deliberately ignore disable or damage equipment designed to protect your health and safety*

Not endanger yourself or others through the consumption of drugs/alcohol while on site*

Identify or report any incidents/concerns to site supervisor*

High walls are falling hazards. Keep clear of all rock faces & drop offs*

Quarries contain water bodies keep clear of all water bodies*

Dust & Noise*

Traffic & Stockpiles*

Falling Rocks*

Wear appropriate PPE as signposted in your work area or listed in your Safe Work Method Statements*

All visitors to wear hi-vis vests and be accompanied by Beashel Quarries representative*

When hand loading rocks stand on the ground only, do not climb stockpiles or stand on rocks*

Beware all stockpiles are unstable and rocks may fall*

Only hand loads rocks from area directed by Beashel Quarries representative*

No Drugs*

No alcohol*

No Firearms*

No Children*
